As the highly anticipated game, "The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited," head to current generation consoles, its developers in Bethesda decided to test out the beta version ahead of its launch.
According to the press release posted on the PlayStation Blog, the beta testing is the "one beta before launch," so players are invited to take part in it. Those who would be able to try it out would get to "explore the vast expanses of Tamriel" subscription-free.
The beta version testing would begin on April 23 and end on April 27, noted IGN. However, the developers said that not everyone would be able to test out this version. Bethesda implemented a "by-invite only" rule for those who would be able to try it out.
The people behind the game already sent out invites via email, so players are requested to check even their spam mail to see if they received this limited edition invitation to check out the game.
Bethesda has not made it clear what qualifications they used to determine who would be invited, noted Game Spot.
For those unfortunate to not receive invitations, the developers promised that the beta version testing program would not have a non-disclosure agreement (NDA), and users are encouraged to "share screenshots and live streams" of their gameplay.
Even if the test is called a beta version, the developers made it clear that players who are qualified to try it out would be able to experience the full game to come out in June and not a watered down version.
Meanwhile, players who get to try it would be disappointed to learn that the progress they achieve in the beta version would not be carried over to the game to be launched in June. The company would clear all characters found in the PS4 ESOTU before it is released to the market.
However, Bethesda noted that for those who are qualified to transfer their characters could do simply do so.
The statement added, "If you are eligible for the PC/Mac to PS4 transfer, your characters will be waiting for you on the PS4 megaservers at launch. Otherwise, you will be creating new characters on launch day."
Bethseda promises a unique and exciting gameplay experience in terms of scope which is obvious due to the huge size of the game at 65 GB. The developers noted that for the initial release, there would be a 50 GB of data with the remaining 15 GB to follow us a patch update.
"The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited" would hit game consoles on June 9, 2015.
