Android Lollipop Update for Samsung Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy Alpha, Galaxy S4 Details Revealed

Users of Samsung Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy S4, and Galaxy Alpha now have something to look forward to with regards to the Android 5.0 Lollipop update, while Galaxy S4 Mini users have a bit of an obstacle.

The Korean tech giant first started to roll out the update to their devices in December last year, and the latest Lollipop OS has been distributed to a multitude of Samsung devices ever since.

Now, as the company continues with the Lollipop update, new details about the global rollout have been obtained by Gotta Be Mobile.

For instance, T-Mobile has already started to distribute the Android 5.0 Lollipop update to the Galaxy Note 4 after a long issue with testing. As confirmed by the carrier’s support page, the update can now be downloaded through two different methods, namely a Wi-Fi connection or the Samsung Kies application. The latter permits users to skip the over-the-air or OTA process.

US Cellular has also started to roll out the same update for Galaxy Note 3, according to the brand’s official website. It can now be obtained via OTA, but users who would like to skip the over-the-air process can easily do so through the Samsung Kies.

Moreover, Sam Mobile has reported that the latest Android Lollipop update is also being rolled out to Galaxy Alpha units in South Korea. Just like the others, the update can also be downloaded through similar methods.

Galaxy S4 Mini users, on the other hand, will be dismayed to know that Three, a famous carrier in the United Kingdom, has confirmed that Android 5.0 Lollipop update will not be rolled out for the said unit.

It's possible that a lot of today’s Galaxy S4 Mini users will end up being left behind on the Android 4.4 KitKat but many are hoping that this will not be the case globally.

Thankfully, Galaxy S4 owners will not be experiencing the same predicament. The Lollipop continues to be rolled out, having recently reached AT&T Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S4 Active units in the U.S., Gotta Be Mobile noted.

At present, Samsung will continue with the distribution of other Lollipop updates. In fact, just last week, Gotta Be Mobile reported that the update has just reached Galaxy Tab S 8.4 devices in Korea, upgrading the tablet to the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop.
