Less than two months since the "Final Fantasy XV: Episode Duscae" Demo in the "Final Fantasy Type-0 HD" came out and developers at Square Enix are now looking at releasing an update to the demo, called "Episode Duscae 2.0."
According to Siliconera, the update to the demo that was recently launched is aimed at improving the "combat system" as well as to fix some glitches that came with it. The enhancements came about after the developers in Square Enix received feedback from the players who were able to try out the version 1.0.
Among the issues that the company hopes to fix are the game's balance and the MP usage and recovery as well as being unable to utilize MP in timed doges, revealed game director Hajime Tabata.
In addition, the team looked at the Active Cross Battle system currently in play at the demo and plans to enhance it in the updated version.
"Episode Duscae 2.0" would also have additional moves to the combat system being used by players. Tabata revealed that the update could see enhancements to the range of Noctis' weapon, additional joint attacks, and the possibility of having the dodge roll move. The developers would also adjust the camera in the game and its targeting system.
One thing the director made clear in the new demo is that players would soon be unable to utilize the "Titan bug" that allowed them to reach the Titan. However, Tabata hinted that there could be a possibility that a new way to do that would be included in the version 2.0.
The director also revealed that other features might be added in the updated demo version. However, as these things are still under consideration, they remain to be seen in the finished product.
Tabata revealed that the team already started adding things that they have not yet tried before to the demo. He added, "And if possible, instead of presenting a master that will be like the final release, I really want everyone to see and feel how the game is improving toward the final release as we take in all of their feedback."
As this is the first time that an update to a demo version would be made available, he admitted that the developers are still unsure how to release version 2.0, reported Game Spot. He revealed that the company is still in talks with both Microsoft and Sony to see how it could be done.
Tabata said that Square Enix initially wanted the updated version released to players in an event. "We first thought it would be good to constantly upgrade 'Episode Duscae' across various events. But it would be more ideal from the dev team's perspective if we could distribute 'Episode Duscae' version 2.0 to everyone who played the demo," said the director.
"Episode Duscae 2.0" is scheduled to come out in mid to late May 2015.
