iPhone 7 Specs, Features & Release Date: New Apple Smartphone To Have 'Voice Unlocking System' On Top Of Touch ID? [Rumors]

Less than a year since Apple came out with the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, fans of the smartphone are already looking forward to the next offering from the Cupertino-based firm. Reports circulated that the upcoming iPhone 7 is set to top its predecessor and would have amazing specs and features including a "voice unlocking system."

It is still unclear whether Apple is coming out next with the iPhone 7 or iPhone 6s. However, numerous reports have been circulating about the next technology that would debut in its next-generation smartphone.

According to Master Herald, the company is looking at an additional security system that would go on top of the current Touch ID and slide-to-lock system. This new system would utilize the owner's voice to unlock the unit.

Rumors of the "voice unlock system" came about when it was reported that Apple applied for a "speech recognition technology" patent for its upcoming device. The objective of the patent was said to be for the addition of an unlock system.

The new "voice unlock" technology is said to be aimed at people with an active lifestyle and fitness buffs to enable them to access their gadgets without the use of their hands. This is a market that Apple has yet to capture and the addition of this system could be pivotal for the growth of the company's business.

While the patent has been applied at the U.S. Trademark Office, it is still uncertain whether the new handheld device from the company would have this. It could also mean that the firm is working on something with this technology but could not be put out in the market yet.

Meanwhile, it is also rumored that the company is planning to put out its latest phone in a new hardware. According to IB Times, Apple is thinking of encasing the new iPhone in a "custom Series 7000 aluminum alloy."

The material is stronger than the current aluminum out in the market. This should work well for the company to avoid another "bendgate controversy" from happening again.

For "selfie" addicts, the report that Apple recently acquired Linx could mean that there is a huge possibility the iPhone's camera capabilities would be upgraded. In fact, some reports speculated that the new iPhone would come with a "DSLR-like" power for sharper and better photos.

Apple has yet to issue an official statement regarding its latest smartphone device.
