A lot of new details are surfacing regarding the upcoming movie, "Jurassic World."
Earlier it was confirmed by movie director Colin Trevorrow that only one character from the original group of cast members will be returning for the fourth installment of the much-loved franchise.
Although he recognized that fans would like to see the familiar faces return, there is only one character who had a significant yet unappreciated role in the original film that makes sense.
"They're iconic. But I respect those actors too much to shoehorn them into this story for my own sentimental reasons. Jurassic Park isn't about the bad luck of three people who keep getting thrown into the same situation...there is a character from the first film who makes sense in our world. This hasn't been announced yet, but BD Wong will be returning as Dr. Henry Wu."
As an engineer working on de-extinction, the team felt there was more to his story that had to be told.
Another Returning Character?
Now, as it turns out, another former character is set to light up the big screen and it's none other than the mighty T. Rex that wrecked havoc to the park.
Speaking to SlashFilm, Trevorrow hinted that a dinosaur present in the previous films would be featured.
"The T. rex that's in the film is the T. rex from the original Jurassic Park. She is 22 years older. But she's not limping around."
The team utilized the original design but utilized new technology. He added, "So, it's going to move a little bit differently, but it'll move differently because it's older. And we're giving her some scars and we're tightening her skin. So, she has that feeling of, like, an older Burt Lancaster. And this movie is her Unforgiven."
Plot Details
As the new movie follows the basic plot of the "Jurassic Park" franchise, Trevorrow has just revealed (via Yahoo! Movies) that the fourth installment will be a direct follow up to the original 1993 film meaning, the earlier two sequels will basically be ignored.
So far, it's been announced earlier that the movie will take place 22 years after the events of "Jurassic Park" and now, there is a fully functional park on Isla Nebular.
"It sees more than 20,000 visitors every day. You arrive by ferry from Costa Rica. It has elements of a biological preserve, a safari, a zoo, and a theme park. There is a luxury resort with hotels, restaurants, nightlife and a golf course. And there are dinosaurs. Real ones. You can get closer to them than you ever imagined possible. It's the realization of John Hammond's dream, and I think you'll want to go there."
"Jurassic World" arrives in theaters June 12. Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas-Howard star in the film.
