Less than a month since Rockstar Games came out with the "Grand Theft Auto 5" for PC and a new patch update has been released to fix glitches and bugs to improve players' gameplay experience. However, patch 350.1 reportedly did more than fix glitches as it also deleted some mods that players came up with.
A patch update is always a great thing to download and install as developers normally come up with this to enhance the game and its features. The recent patch made available by Rockstar Games, however, affected certain mods much to the players' chagrin.
According to Game Spot, patch 350.1 was created to fix stability issues that cause the game to crash at the most random and inopportune times. It also targeted to restore the players' ability to clip issues when taking selfies in-game. The new patch also aimed to fix the game freeze that happens when a player is purchasing snacks and the store gets robbed.
Patch 350.1 also fixed the concern of losing saved cars in a full garage. For full details of the changelog in the new patch, check out this link.
All these updates should make the life of a gamer easier. However, it accidentally affected a code in the game, thereby breaking certain mods that were in place. The game does not provide official support for mods because these are enhancements created by the players themselves. Therefore, it is not really a concern for the developers in Rockstar Games to be careful not to touch these.
In a report by Game Rant, it was learned that patch 350.1 accidentally affected the mod Script Hook V, rendering the enhancement useless. GTA5-Mods.com, the leading modding community for the popular game, revealed this concern.
As such, players who might want to utilize "super jump, invincibility or tweaking the wanted level" now face the dilemma of choosing whether to install the patch to improve gameplay experience and lose this "extra advantages," or simply wait it out until the mod code has been updated.
Like any other mod, it would not be long before the people behind it could find a way to tweak the code and have it up and running along with the new patch. A statement released in the modding community site mentioned that an update for the mod is already in development.
"We've been enjoying the huge amount of script mods pouring out this week after Alexander Blade released Script Hook V, but it looks like Rockstar Games hasn't been enjoying it so much. The latest 'GTA V PC' patch 50.1 has changed the game's native hashes, making Script Hook V unusable," said the site.
It added, "Alexander Blade is already working on updating his script hook to use the new native hashes, and we'll provide an update once that's done."
