A recent article from The Olympian included other celebrities on the list like Jay-Z and Snoop Dogg. Meanwhile, Sen. Harry Reid, who is a boxing aficionado, would only be watching the fight in Washington while Sen. John McCain will not be watching the fight ring side.
In the LA times article, Robert De Niro, Clint Eastwood, Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Jamie Foxx, Michael J. Fox, Jerry Bruckheimer,Will Smith, Jimmy Kimmel, UFC fighter Ronda Rousey, quarterback Tom Brady and nearly a dozen NFL team owners, were the celebs who have secured their seats. Jesse Jackson and Sean Combs will also share the floor section, as noted by the site.
Although the MGM Arenas can hold 16,800 seats, only 500 of them are available for the public, pushing the prices of the tickets too high. Of the remaining, they were already offered to some bigshot clientele of the MGM Hotel & Casino, as LA Times earlier reported.
Naturally, several individuals are willing to pay for these premiere seats but not all may get these slots according to Dena duBoef of Top Rank Inc., representing Pacquiao. "They can't all sit in the front row. Tickets and seating are probably the biggest nightmare for this fight," duBoef told LA Times.
Even Stephen Espinoza, a Showtime executive who handles part of Mayweather's allotment, feels the same thing. "Nothing matches the hysteria we're seeing," Espinoza said via LA Times.
The news outlet states that these celebrities will pay $10,000 per ringside seat because nobody will have a complimentary ticket for the megafight despite his or her fame or background.
The Olympian noted that even Pacquiao's promoter Bob Arum said he paid $10,000 for his front-row seat. Arum also said that Pacman himself is shouldering about $3M to $4M for 900 tickets to pass out to his entourage, as reported on The Olympian.
