New things are in store for the multi-player mode of "Halo 5: Guardians." The developers in 343 Industries confirmed that the upcoming title would no longer feature the "Invasion Mode" but would be replaced with something else that is bigger and better.
Josh Holmes, the head of 343 Industries, revealed that they have decided not to continue with the "Invasion Mode" anymore. A fan posted a question about the said mode in one of the forums of Team Beyond to which the studio chief replied and revealed that new things are in store for the upcoming title, reported Segment Next.
Holmes responded, "No Invasion but more to come on larger scale MP. Stay tuned!"
The "Invasion Mode," while not widely popular among players, was first experienced in "Halo Reach," noted Gameranx. This fighting mode consisted of two teams composed up of six players, called the Spartans and the Elites. The two go against each other as they try to defend their own base while venturing to outwit and acquire the other team's power.
It was a breath of fresh air for the game and allows players to earn points by finishing off people.
With the announcement that the "Invasion Mode" would not return and the revelation that the developers are cooking something bigger, fans have speculated on what's next for the game.
In an earlier report in Segment Next, it was rumored that the people in 343 Industries are setting up a four-player cooperative mode for the upcoming title.
The rumor started when some fans of the game received what seemed to be random emails with a piece of a puzzle for the #HUNTtheTRUTH promo. It was noted that around 53 pieces have already been received and as fans collaborated to put them together, it showed almost half a picture of Master Chief and Spartan Locke.
Further look at the puzzle showed a new creature in the middle located at the far back while under the images of the two lead characters are at least four other people standing.
Fans speculated that this hinted at the arrival of a four-player coop mode. However, the developers have yet to issue an official statement regarding this matter.
While previous versions allowed a "coop mode" to be played, it did not allow Spartan Locke to lead one of the teams, noted Game Rant. With the poster fully revealed, it seems that the developers have finally given in to let Master Chief fight Spartan Locke in a full coop mode.
"Halo 5: Guardians" would arrive exclusively to Xbox One consoles on October 27.
