"Teen Wolf" Season 5 will be returning to television on June 29 with a two-part premiere that is going to be kicked off with the first episode, titled "Creatures of the Night." According to multiple online reports, this upcoming season will be darker than usual since the team will have to face off against a variety of supernatural villains.
According to International Business Times, the first few episodes will be introducing the show's fan base to a new character, Sluagh - a terrifying creature that devours the souls of the innocent. This particular monster also has the power to leave behind a part of his soul inside the bodies of its sleeping victims.
Jeff Davis, the show's executive producer, writer, and creator, dished some key details about what fans can expect from the cast of their favorite MTV show.
"This is very much a season of secrets and how secrets can break a group of friends apart, and how people can lose faith in each other," revealed Davis, according to Movie Pilot. "We are going to test Scott in big ways. He has done very well as a leader, but what happens when he fails? What happens when everyone's faith in him is tested? He is going to go through a lot of difficulty this season."
According to Venture Capital Post, the show's new set of villains are going to be so scary. Even Tyler Posey, who plays the role of Scott McCall, admitted to be very excited about facing off with their new enemies. He claimed that they were the scariest he has seen on the show so far.
"They are very scary," Posey told TV Line. "When I first read this season, I was so excited about these villains - more excited than I have been about any villains before. They have got powers we have never seen before. They are tall as hell and they are awesome."
Davis also spoke with TV Line regarding the show's general tone. Based on his statements, it appears that "Teen Wolf" Season 5 will feature its young cast members in situations where they have to think and act like grownups.
"It is very much about our teenagers becoming adults and heading into senior year," Davis said. "But, as always, we bring in some new mysteries and new monsters. I think this season is very much about the line between science and supernatural."
