Rick Carlisle, coach of the Dallas Mavericks, is moving away from his Dallas suburb home, listing it for a little over $3.1M, reports Realtor.com. But the Dallas coach is reportedly not leaving the team, so this move should not be a cause of alarm for the Mavericks' fans. Carlisle and his wife are actually transferring uptown of Dallas, notes Realtor.com, citing Candy's Dirt.
So, what's in store for the would-be owners of the Carlisle home? Realtor.com describes his home as having a French-style appeal covering almost 6000 sq.ft. of living space. The Carlisle residence, situated in a wealthy community of University Park, includes five bedrooms and five full baths, wet bar, dry bar, and a home office, informs the site.
Inside, the two-story house showcases furnishing such as wooden flooring, wood-beam ceilings and rustic ambiance, notes Realtor.com. However, you will find much luxury even in the other rooms. The master bedroom boasts a superb master bath lined with designer tiles, equipped with walk-in spa, an air-jet tub, and adorned with crystal chandelier, Realtor.com adds.
The kitchen is reportedly accented with granite and limestone countertops and is also furnished with modern appliances with known brand such as Sub-Zero and Asko.
Before becoming a coach, Carlisle, a BA Psychology graduate from Virginia, was a basketball player who entered the Boston Celtics as a rookie in 1984, states NBA.com. He then transferred to the New York Knicks and next, to New Jersey. In 1989, he became an assistant coach for five seasons with the last NBA team he played for, the New Jersey Nets, as posted on the site. He then joined Indiana's coaching staff led by Larry Bird in 1997, after three seasons with Portland.
Carlisle then served as the coach of Detroit Pistons and Indiana Pacers for a total of six seasons, and in five of these seasons, he was able to lead the teams to postseason status, notes NBA.com. Carlisle got the NBA Coach of the Year Award in 2002 while in Detroit, according to the website. In 2003, he jumped to the Indiana Pacers with a 61-21 record for his first year, giving them the most number of wins recorded in franchise history and the prestigious Central Division Championship, NBA.com adds.
Since 2008, he has been serving as the head coach of the Mavericks, says Basketball-Reference.com. The team became NBA champions in the 2010 -11 season.
This 2014-2015 season, the Mavericks played against Houston Rockets in the First Round Playoffs but eventually bowed down, after losing four out of five games, reports ESPN.
Now, he can spend more time with his wife, Donna , and daughter, Abby. He could even squeeze playing golf and the piano in his schedule now, as he enjoys doing these activities as mentioned in his NBA.com profile.
