Annie Potts, one of the stars of the first "Ghostbusters" movie shown in 1984, has listed her Tarzana home for less than $5M, reports Variety.
The Emmy-nominated actress and her Emmy-nominated producer-director husband, James Hayman, have decided to downsize, now that their children are all grown up, listing agents Anne Burkin and Deedee Howard at the Agency told Variety.
The home of the actress who portrayed the secretary Janine in the 1984 supernatural-comedy film was actually listed in September 2014 for $6.5M, according to the Los Angeles Times. The site notes that Potts bought the estate in 2003 for only $2.5 million, citing real estate records.
You may take a look at the pictures of what's inside the home on Variety or here on Realtor.com.
Realtor.com notes that this Spanish-styled Tarzana home in California of the "Designing Women" star consists of five bedroom and six bathrooms. The residence, sitting on a 1.5 acre compound property with a Hacienda appeal, boldly displays vibrant colors, notes the site.
Potts' home stands on a portion of land formerly owned by Edgar Rice Burroughs, author of the Tarzan novels, hence, informs Realtor.com. The grounds boast fountains, an outdoor kitchen, and a swimming pool with spa, adds the site. There is a guesthouse apart from the main house.
Built in 1934, it displays rustic accents and pristine grounds. Inside, you'll find plaster walls, stunning stained glass wall, hardwoods, archways, wood beamed ceilings and unique ceramic tiles, states the website.
On being part of 'Ghostbusters'
The actress told PEOPLE in her interview in 2014, that even after 30 years, people still recognize her for her role in "Ghosbusters" and that there are still many fans who continue to love it. "There are always some Ghostbusters fans outside the theater. I think for those of us who do live theater, there are always a few Ghostbusters fans waiting. Last time I was in town doing a show, there was a young man who came several times a week and he was dressed completely as a Ghostbuster, with the pack on his back and everything. That was interesting," Potts told PEOPLE.
However, she said, that her own children seemed to be unimpressed with the film. Potts said in her interview, "When you have a parent that does that kind of work ... do children pay much attention to their parents anyway? I think not. They didn't really take exception to the fact that I was in that. I think it always surprises them when one of their friends goes, 'Oh my god, your mom was in Ghostbusters!' And they're like, 'Oh, yeah.' They don't care."
Meanwhile, "Ghostbusters 3" is scheduled to be released on July 22, next year, as announced on Rolling Stone. The sequel will be directed by Paul Feig , famed for directing "Bridesmaid". The twist in the upcoming reboot is that it will have an all-female cast namely Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy and Saturday Night Live stars Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones, reports Rolling Stone.
