Jeremy Lin, a rising basketball star just two weeks ago, signed a contract to rent a 38th floor furnished condo at the W New York Downtown Hotel.
It also comes with that staple of New York real estate, the celebrity discount, and shows the close connection between the upper echelons of the sports and real-estate industries in New York.
The apartment was listed rent of $13,000 a month. But Matthew Moinian, the son of the W's developer Joseph Moinian, said Mr. Lin got a better deal, although he declined to disclose the final contract price, according to the Wall Street Journal reported.
Jeremy chose the W Downtown, since his parents grew up in the atmosphere of the W Hotel in Taipei. He is very happy to live there, for he can have a good view of the Statue of Liberty and the memorial pools at the World Trade Center from the living room.
