It seems soccer star Frank Lampard is eyeing Robert De Niro's previously-owned New York penthouse.
Lampard, a former Chelsea midfielder, was seen viewing the almost $40M Manhattan home once owned by "The Godfather: Part II" actor, reports Futbolita. Lampard was actually spotted with his longtime fiancée, English TV personality Christine Bleakley.
Futbolita notes that the luxury penthouse includes five bedrooms, four baths and seven car-garage. Aside from that, the Manhattan residence covering 9000 sq.ft. of living space gives amazing 360-degree views of the New York City skyline, notes Futbolita. Indeed, wonderful sparkling lights from buildings and streets during the night await the next owner or tenant of the home.
The cost of renting the apartment is $95,000 according to Futbolita. It also has a price tag of about $40M.
Based on the penthouse's photos which can be viewed on NY Curbed, it's not surprising why anyone won't fancy the Manhattan home where De Niro stayed after a 2012 fire damaged his Central Park apartment.
The home which De Niro lived for only two years, exudes elegance anywhere you turn. The walls are immaculately white, making the residence so pristine and just relaxing, that you forget you are in the very busy city of New York. The soaring ceiling and airy ambiance contribute much more to its retreat-home appeal. The display of verdant imagery via natural grown plants create a more lively and vibrant feel, contrasting well with the predominantly white motif.
The home also speaks of character, with its glassy and reflective flooring, wide painting displays and even the colorful accents found lining the kitchen's ceilings. Although New York-born, De Niro effortlessly derived inspirations from his Italian roots and blended them well to create the masterpiece which is this magnificent Manhattan home.
In addition, who will not miss the modern kitchen just beneath those lovely bright decors?
This should be a truly relaxing New York staycation for Lampard if he will be owning or leasing the place. The 36-year-old athlete is already getting ready and looking for a home to stay while in the U.S. because he will be joining the Major League Soccer (MLS) team New York City FC in July after his Manchester City loan deal ended, reports Futbolita.
"I am very excited. I am very fortunate about this part of my career, coming to City. It was something I never saw coming. At 36 I got asked to come to the champions and a club with this pedigree. I am delighted that happened as it has done, and I am delighted about the future and the opportunity to go and play in New York – to try and make the best of it individually, to help there and also be part of a new football club in one of the best cities in the world. I am fortunate,” he said, as quoted by The Guardian.
