'Big Hero 6' Sequel Cast, Release Date & Rumors: 'Big Hero 7' Confirmed, Marvel To Start Production After 'Guardians of the Galaxy 2?'

Ever since Disney came out with the animated film version of Marvel's "Big Hero 6," fans of the original comic book and its adaptation have been looking forward to see what happens next with Baymax and Hiro. It seems that the film's followers need not wait long. If rumors are to be believed, production to the sequel would soon start after Marvel finishes with "Guardians of the Galaxy 2."

According to Gospel Herald, Marvel's head honcho, Stan Lee, might have revealed the timeline for the anticipated film.

The executive producer of Marvel was in a recent interview where he talked about the upcoming films slated for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Lee revealed that there are more than four films they need to work on before the sequel to "Big Hero 6" starts its production.

"After 'Ant-Man,' we're going to start playing around with 'Doctor Strange,' the 'Black Panther,' 'The Inhumans,' and then we have to come back for 'Guardians of the Galaxy 2,' 'Big Hero 6,' 'The Avengers,' 'Captain America,'" said the 92-year old comic book writer.

With a lot of films lined up, it is still unclear when the sequel would get released.

Disney has been active in producing some of the characters from the Marvel Universe. Aside from Iron Man, Thor, and Captain America, the animation company has also taken a liking to some of the less known titles from the comic studio such as "Guardians of the Galaxy" and "Big Hero 6."

While not too many details about the upcoming second movie in the series are revealed, some rumors have circulated that the next film would be titled "Big Hero 7" because of the addition of a new character to the superhero crew.

An article posted in Master Herald speculated that the seventh addition is none other than Tadashi Hamada, 14-year-old Hiro's brother who died in an explosion in the first movie.

This rumor was suggested by blogger Jon Negroni, who put forth the idea that Tadashi might have survived the fire as no body was found after the incident. He would then return for the sequel as Sunfire, a mutant that has the "ability to project flames by absorbing heat."

Sunfire is a popular character in the Marvel universe and was part of the original comic book cast of "Big Hero 6." Aside from that, he was also part of the X-Men story and was even dubbed as the "Uncanny Avenger."

It remains to be seen if this rumor would come true in the sequel and Marvel has yet to offer any hint on this possibility.
