Fans of the action-adventure open world stealth video game, "Assassin's Creed," have been looking forward to seeing the next title to come out from the series. The wait is almost over as game developer Ubisoft confirmed that the new game is set for launch on May 12, and is said to be getting a new title.
Ubisoft recently released a teaser video to announce the arrival of the anticipated sequel. The 26-second clip was simple. It featured the hands of a man whose face was not shown. One was holding an ornate cane while the other was wrapped in a gauntlet. After a few seconds, a knife hidden on the gauntlet comes out. This happens as details of the game's live stream premier is shown.
According to Game Rant, the live stream is said to feature more details about the game. Ever since it was reported that a new "Assassin's Creed" title is in the works, leaks and speculations began to circulate online.
One report that has been consistent throughout the months is the game's setting. It was initially written that the new title would be in Victorian London around the 18th century.
In December 2014, the developers confirmed the rumor while expressing disappointment over the leak.
According to another report in VG 24/7, Ubisoft said that, "It is always unfortunate when internal assets, not intended for public consumption are leaked. And, while we certainly welcome anticipation for all of our upcoming titles, we're disappointed for our fans, and our development team, that this conceptual asset is now public."
While the setting has been revealed, not too many details about the actual game were leaked. In fact, up until recently, it was said that the upcoming game's title is "Assassin's Creed Victory."
However, a report in VG 24/7 said that it has since been changed to "Assassin's Creed Syndicate." The change in title was first reported in Kotaku after the site got wind of the report from a source close to the matter.
It was also said that the live stream scheduled for May 12 has been pre-recorded. However, Ubisoft has yet to confirm this report and it is assumed that fans would soon know when the live streams begins next week.
Although many are excited with the upcoming release, some fans expressed their skepticism with the new game mainly due to the numerous issues and glitches that came with the previous title, "Assassin's Creed Unity."
However, Ubisoft seems determined not to repeat the same mistake and to ensure that the next game is going to be better than its predecessor.
"Assassin's Creed Victory" is set to hit current generation consoles in late 2015 or early 2016.
