'GTA 6' PS4, Xbox One Release Date & Gameplay: Will Players Be Allowed To Travel Back To Vice City & Liberty City?

With less than a month after Rockstar Games came out with the long awaited PC version of "Grand Theft Auto 5," fans of the franchise are eager to see what's next for the gang of Franklin, Trevor, and Michael. If rumors are to be believed, then it's possible that the characters would soon be able to travel from one city to another in the upcoming sixth installment of the popular video game.

"GTA 5" has almost everything it could need including an in-game video editor for the aspiring YouTube users, so it's quite hard to imagine what else is left for Rockstar Games to do to make the next title exciting.

One rumor that has been persistent is that of a bigger map for the upcoming game. Movie Pilot noted that "GTA 6" could finally be the title that would open the possibility for characters to travel from Vice City to Liberty City within the game.

Rockstar Games President Leslie Benzies hinted of this possibility in February 2015, said The Inquisitr. He was in an interview regarding ideas for the upcoming title when he said that the team behind the popular game considered putting together one world for all the maps of the previous titles.

"Where it is going to be set is the first question. Then that defines the missions; you're doing different things in Los Angeles than in New York or Miami," said Benzies.

He added, "Of course at some point we would like to have one big world containing all our cities and let the player fly between them and revisit their favorite areas."

Although development of such big a scope would be a challenge, it would be a breath of fresh air to be able to move from one city to another to handle missions.

If this plan pushes through, then it seems that fans would have to wait for a long time to get their hands on the title.

Prior to "GTA 5," most titles from the series came out within a two-year interval, noted Youth Health Mag. With the latest title, however, it took the developers around four years to come up with the finished game and another year or so to fully release expansions packs.

With this timeline, it is highly likely that gamers would see a 2017 release for the popular video game. However, as Rockstar Games has yet to confirm that development on the game has started, the possibility that this date could change still remains.
