"Iron Man 4" continues to be one of the most awaited Marvel blockbusters to date, but there still has been no official confirmation on whether it will actually come to fruition. There will be a multitude of films within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, or MCU, that will be out in big screens by 2020 but it does not look like a fourth installment in the "Iron Man" franchise will be one of them.
As pointed out by Master Herald, if "Iron Man 4" continues to be absent in the announcements that Marvel makes, it is expected that the public will have to wait for at least another five years before any news about the film will be revealed.
Despite no confirmatory news regarding "Iron Man 4," Tony Stark will still be seen on screen as it has been rumored that the genius engineer will be making cameo appearances in a variety of Marvel films. According to the rumor mill, he will be part of "Black Panther," "Captain Marvel," "Guardians of the Galaxy 2," and the upcoming "Spider-Man" reboot.
However, no other details have been provided regarding these possible cameos. It is expected that Iron Man will only be featured in relatively minor roles that will not develop his character in any way.
Also, those who already saw "Avengers 2: Age of Ultron" may have assumed that Iron Man decided to take an extremely long vacation from the world-saving team by the end of the film. However, this will not be the case since he will be part of next year's "Captain America 3: Civil War," where he goes head to head with the group's leader, Captain America.
The third installment in the "Captain America" franchise will be picking up where the second "Avengers" film left off which includes various governments of the world mandating a new law that regulates anyone with unique powers. This regulatory law causes the great divide among the Avengers.
Meanwhile, the actor linked to Iron Man, Robert Downey, Jr., recently made headlines after he opted to walk out of a certain interview. According to Venture Capital Post, Krishan Guru Murthy was pressuring the star to open up about his past struggles with drug addiction and was also seemingly badgering him for his political beliefs when the actor only wanted to talk about the then-upcoming "Avengers 2: Age of Ultron."
Eventually, the actor stood up and left the interviewer hanging. Downey, Jr. later spoke up and said that kids were watching him during that interview and he thought it was highly inappropriate to discuss his previous struggles in that light.
