'Destiny: House of Wolves' DLC Gameplay Update & Release Date: Here's Everything You Need To Know About The Upcoming Expansion Pack!

Eight months since Bungie's first person shooter game, "Destiny," came out for the consoles and fans are already excited to see what are still in store for the popular title. A few days before the second major DLC, "House of Wolves," is set to hit the video game, numerous changes and updates are being done to the current version to be able to accommodate it.

According to Game Rant, the developers at Bungie scheduled two downtimes to incorporate further changes into the current version. The first update is set for May 12 to add, "final preparation and world changes" into the video game.

A second update would be on May 19 to incorporate the final touches before the "House of Wolves" expansion pack is made available. Soon after, Update 1.2.0.1, which contains the actual DLC, would be accessible to activate the game for play.

Many are looking forward to the arrival of the "House of Wolves" expansion pack because of the additional modes and features it brings.

Among the highly anticipated additions of the new DLC is the new "Prison of Elders" co-op arena mode. A post in the Playstation Blog shared that the new feature would allow players to compete with one another in different challenges.

"In 'Prison of Elders,' you'll partner with fellow Guardians and attempt to survive a series of battles across many of 'Destiny's' toughest alien races, including Hive, Cabal and more," wrote the blog.

Players would also be able to unlock and access additional challenges when they reach the levels 32, 34, and 35.

Aside from this co-op mode, the new DLC would also introduce the new social space, called "The Reef." Players successful in their challenges that earned them rewards, such as new armors and weapons from the co-op mode, would be able to collect these from Variks in "The Reef."

According to Cinema Blend, "The Reef" is the place "where players will accept the new story quests and bounties related to 'House of Wolves.'"

Meanwhile, the new DLC would not introduce a new Raid in lieu of the "Prison of Elders."

Another anticipated feature of the expansion pack is the "Trials of Osiris" crucible activity where players would go against one another in elimination rounds with the game being held on a "different map every weekend," said Youth Health Mag.

Every team is composed of three players and when a group loses, the Trial ends. However, players are given another chance to join the following week when the event is updated.

"House of Wolves" DLC arrives to "Destiny" in the PlayStation consoles beginning May 19.
