Floyd Mayweather Next Fight: Miguel Cotto, Amir Khan, Gennady Golovkin Eyeing Fight Against P4P King

Less than a week since Floyd Mayweather Jr. beat Manny Pacquiao via unanimous decision in a match touted as the "fight of the century," other boxers are already lining up to go against the middleweight champion. Among those who expressed their appeal to face him this September are Amir Khan, Miguel Cotto, and Gennady Golovkin.

After winning against Pacquiao, Mayweather expressed his desire to have another fight in September 2015. However, he said that he wants it to be his last, so that he could soon retire, noted Sky Sports.

"My last fight is in September and after that, I am hanging them up. I'm nearly 40 years old, in this sport for nearly 19 years and I'm truly blessed," said the five-division world champion.

With that, it remains to be seen who would go against the famous boxer for what could be the last fight he'd ever have in his life.

Puerto Rican Cotto wants to give the 40-year-old American another go. He already fought Mayweather in 2012 under the Junior Middleweight division, reported Boxing Scene. The 38-year-old American won the match after 12 rounds.

However, the Puerto Rican believes that another chance to go against the undefeated pound for pound boxer would be dubbed a "mega-fight event."

Cotto, who is set to fight Daniel Geale in June 6, has a three-match contract with Roc Nations. The 34-year-old boxer is hoping a rematch against Mayweather would be included in that line-up.

Meanwhile, the unbeaten middleweight champion, Gennady Golovkin, revealed that one of his dreams as a boxer is to go against Mayweather.

The 33-year-old Kazakh is currently busy preparing for his fight against Willie Monroe, Jr. but he wouldn't mind going against the pound-for-pound king in the future, reported the Boxing Scene.

"Right now my focus is on 160 and getting all of the belts. I hope for a big fight with Miguel [Cotto] in the future. Of course, I want a unification fight with Andy Lee, who has the WBO title. And then my big dream, a fight with Floyd Mayweather at 154," revealed the boxer.

With his lineup of matches and Mayweather's decision to have one last fight before retiring, it is still unclear if Golovkin would be given a shot at that dream in the coming months.

Meanwhile, 28-year-old English boxer Amir Khan has been raring to go against Mayweather before he retires, said another report in Boxing Scene. The former two-time world champion is hoping that a deal could be made against the veteran boxer. He expressed his desire to prepare well for that - even mentioning that Ramadan would be of no problem in case a September fight versus Mayweather could be arranged.

On May 29, Khan is set to face Chris Algieri who Pacquiao knocked down numerous times in 2014.

However, given that Mayweather is looking for only one last match before he hangs up his gloves, a possible rematch with Pacquiao could prevent Khan from achieving his desire to fight the unbeaten American.

Talks of a rematch have not been finalized, so it still remains unclear which among the four could have a shot with the pound-for-pound king.
