Celebrity power couple Beyonce and Jay Z have purchased a new home in New Orleans.
According to Zillow, the pair purchased a $2.6 million property in the Garden District of New Orleans and the real estate venture was once a 1925 Presbyterian Church and later a ballet school. The 13,292 square foot residence -- named La Casa de Castile -carries a Spanish baroque design and a 26-foot ceiling and three 1,000 square foot apartments. Other features of the home include a number of branch off sections in the layout, a step-up dining, loft-style sitting room and library.
The converted church has a lot of character with its distinct exterior design complete with arched windows and wrought iron, notes The Real Deal. The home owners will enjoy natural light through its high windows and open floor layout.
With a total of three storeys, there is a total of 22 rooms that include seven bedrooms and eight bathrooms. The home has hardwood floors, gorgeous chandeliers and another feature of the home is the rooftop deck - the largest in the city of New Orleans -- that offers a stunning view of the Crescent City.
Should the King and Queen of music opt to spend some time in the property, the master suite includes a luxurious walk-in closet, spacious bathroom with old-style decor and an antique bathtub and shower space.
New Orleans has its own set of celebrity residents. Elle Decor reports that Beyonce won't be away from family as sister Solange co-owns the French Quarter boutique Exodus Goods while celebrity Matthew McConaughey has also come to call the area home over the past few years.
The news of the new purchase comes after the sale of the couple's Tribeca condo in the Big Apple and a family move to Los Angeles.
Earlier this year, Beyonce and Jay Z moved to LA and after an unsuccessful bid in a Beverly Hills mansion, the pair have rented a home for the time being. The new home -- located along Holmby Hills -- is being rented for a discounted but still pricey $150,000 per month.
The mansions spans $16,000 square feet and includes 7 bedrooms and 8-and-a-half bathrooms. This isn't the first time the pair stayed in the estate, it was reported earlier that the Carters rented the home last summer. In addition to living space, other amenities include two libraries and an infinity pool.
