'Call of Duty: Black Ops 3' Trailer & Release Date: Zombie Storyline, Ranking System & New Map Details Leaked [Rumors]

New rumors suggest that the upcoming Call of Duty title will have a new ranking system and a zombie storyline that could present a new range of challenges for gamers.

A Reddit user using the handle Lemonade Jack claiming to be a Activision marketing intern has shared a lot of juicy details about the first person shooter title due out later this year.

Ranking System

LemonadeJack writes that based on corporate papers they were able to access, Treyarch has been working on a new "leveling system" with rankings that range from 1 to 40 with positive XP a result of actions taken during the game (i.e. headshots, revival of players, etc.). While the rank won't affect gameplay significantly, there are going to be advantages for improved performance.

New Map Details

According to the leak, "The disc ships with four maps (the documents describe them as 'locales') - each unique, with their own set of quirks, weapons, and atmospheres."

The first map is called "Zeitgeist" and is based on a 'steampunk Chicago' theme. With a character name Samantha, players will enter her mind where the gameplay takes place, reports GamingBolt. The second map -- previewed in the reveal trailer for Black Ops III -- is the smallest and set in the Maxis mansion. , The third map, currently untitled, set in a German village is said to be the largest map on the disc. Lastly, the fourth map -- Nile -- is set around the pyramids of Giza.

Zombie Storyline

Supporting circulating rumors of a Zombie plot, Charlie Intel published, "Black Ops III Zombies is the most immersive and ambitious Call of Duty Zombies to date, with a full XP-based progression system for players that adds depth and re-playability to engaging gameplay Zombies fans have come to expect."

Activision and Treyarch officially announced the new game last month and Black Ops III will launch on November 6.

The newest title follows the Call of Duty: Black Ops II which rolled out three years ago. After the next-gen game was confirmed, a trailer for the sequel was revealed via the game's official website.

Stay tuned for more.
