Kanye West New Album: Rapper Complains Billboard Performance 'Grossly Over-Censored'

Kanye West was one of the highly-anticipated performers during Sunday's 2015 Billboard Music Awards but after large sections of his lyrics were censored, the rapper has released a statement on the incident.

Entertainment portal TMZ has reported in an exclusive that the controversial music icon is "pissed" over the audio cuts that happened even when he says he wasn't saying profanities. Sources revealed that prior to the closing performance, producers were furnished exact lyrics for the concert yet his audio was pulled up to 15 seconds at a time.

Insiders revealed that a clean portions were censored possibly because the audio man may have "had an itchy trigger finger" and began pulling the audio too early and cut large chunks of the material.

"Kanye West was grossly over-censored at the Billboard Music Awards. Non-profane lyrics such as 'with my leather black jeans on' were muted for over 30-second intervals. As a result, his voice and performance were seriously misrepresented," wrote the statement of the rapper's publicist (via Time).

Continued the statement, "It is ridiculous that in 2015, unwarranted censorship is something that artists still have to fight against. Although West was clearly set up to face elements beyond his control during the live broadcast, he would like to apologise to the television audience who were unable to enjoy the performance the way he envisioned."

That wasn't the only glitch in West's two-song show, the 37-year-old rapper designed an act filled with pyrotechnics but per E! Online, there was so much smoke it made it hard to see the rapper at times.

'Ye's upcoming album, "Swish" doesn't have an official release date.
