UFC President Dana White believes that the upcoming UFC 189: Aldo vs McGregor will be better than boxing's Fight of the Century match between Mayweather and Pacquiao.
According to Yahoo!, White slammed discussed the difference between the boxing fight between superstars Manny Pacquiao and FloydMayweather Jr. and the upcoming UFC title match.
In his statement, White said that they [boxing] doesn't care about the future of the sport and they only care about the money that they can earn from it.
"(MayPac) was typical boxing. They're never worried about the future of the sport. All they care about is how much money they can make right here, right now...That's not the way we look at it. (We're) trying to take things to the next level."
UFC is currently now building UFC 189: Aldo vs. McGregor as one of the biggest pay per view events in the UFC history. The 45 year old UFC boss confirmed that UFC will be spending huge resources to boost up the upcoming event, in fact, this might be the biggest UFC will do since it's conception.
As part of its promotions, a commercial for the fight will be featured during the NBA Finals and a 30 minute prime time television special coined Bad Blood: Jose Aldo vs. Conor McGregor.
White said that this might be the biggest fight of the year for the organization given the match up between UFC Champion Jose Aldo, who remains undefeated in 10 years, and Conor McGregor who is equally talented as the champion and possibly the toughest contender the champion has yet to face in his illustrious MMA career. McGregor is also known to have a very colorful personality aside from his in ring skills.
The highly-anticipated featherweight title fight between defending champ Jose Aldo and challenger Conor McGregor will take place on July 11, 2015 at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Aldo's record is 25-1 MMA, 7-0 UFC while McGregor's is currently at 17-2 MMA, 5-0 UFC. More information on the fight and athletes can be found here.
The pay per view event will also feature another title fight between UFC Welterweight king Robbie Lawler and Rory McDonald, a protégé of long time UFC welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre.
