Final Fantasy 14's Heavensward Expansion Takes MMO to New Heights

The failed MMO Final Fantasy XIV installment will have a second crack at the gaming world after it was closed down approximately two years ago. According to IGN, the new expansion of Square Enix's multi-million dollar producing game went through the keen eyes of director Naoki Yoshida to make sure that the newest expansion will rebound from being zero to hero, profitability wise.

On a letter from the Producers, the improvements and adjustments were finally revealed such as the raising of the level cap from 50 to 60 and the adding of three new jobs and tons of new contents that includes a 50-hour main scenario. The official statement also confirmed that nine new zones were added that will make the playing field larger and densely populated.

Heavensward will finally make the players able to cruise through the skies with its new mounts - the Black Chocobo and a Griffin. The old mounts are still playable like the previous standout, the Fat Chocobo. However, the most standout addition is the power to create a Free Company workshop (through the game's guild housing) which will allow players to build and own a customized airship, in which the player will build with Cid, the Final Fantasy 7 legendary character.

In addition, Cinemablend also reported that the newest expansion of the game will feature a new beast tribe and its respective boss battles. For example, the Vanu Vanu tribe will have Bismarck as its primal beast and Gnath will be Ravana's battle boss. Another feature that will definitely cause a stir in the gaming world is the launch of the newest job, The Dark Knight. The cape crusader namesake is classified as a tank class that wields a two handed greatsword and uses actions and moves that draws the power of darkness.

Final Fantasy XIV: A Real Reborn is set to drop in the market next year and the next update probably will hit the newsstands in the late quarter of this year.
