Ubisoft Confirms Assassin's Creed: Syndicate Will Not Have a Companion App

Developers of Assasin's Creed learned the hard way from the blunder they have made from last year and they vowed that history will not repeat itself this time, IGN reported. Last year, Assasin's Creed: Unity made a very unwelcomed addition that featured locking access to treasure chests and costumes that require tons of gameplay hours. Assasin's Creed: Unity also introduced, Black Flag, wherein players can earn additional money and resources through a naval minigame, which is again, deemed by players and critics alike unnecessary.

Luckily, Ubisoft did not turn a deaf ear on this issue and made the necessary adjustments on the next outing, a game that fans wanted to see and play. This time around, the developer made sure that Assasin's Creed: Syndicate is companion app-free. Gamespot also detailed that the game will boast a 30 percent bigger city than the previous installment's Paris. It also features two protagonists and a good glance at the previous old-fashioned fist wars.

The newest installment will also offer an interactive world map that will let the player (protagonist) go on board ships and complete missions. Aside from the feedback they received from the fans that played Assasin's Creed: Unity, creative director Marc-Alexis Cote also confirmed that one of the reasons why they took out the companion app is they want to focus on the roots of the game. They want to deliver the same single player experience that fans learned to love from the previous franchises.

They are planning to drop Assasin's Creed: Syndicate this coming October 23, but this isn't final yet. It will be initially available for Xbox One and Playstation 4. The PC version may have to wait for a little while but it will be available a couple of months after the game console's release.
