New photos from the set of "Suicide Squad" movie has surfaced online. The latest photos from the DC film show Ben Affleck's Batman chasing the Joker, played by Jared Leto, in an action-packed car chase sequence.
According to a report from usmagazine.com, in the photo, the Dark Knight is seen on top of Joker's car as it drives along at high speed. It was previously speculated that Batman would make a cameo in the film, and the new still confirms that the Dark Knight clearly has a role in "Suicide Squad."
The whole sequence, according to a report from comicbookresources.com, featured the new Batmobile chasing Joker's car. Afterward, Batman reportedly sat on top Joker's car, as seen in one of the photos, to force the car to stop. This was further recounted by screencrush.com, which said that Batman was trying to cut through the roof of Joker's Infiniti.
One of the photos also show Margot Robbie, who plays Harley Quinn, in the passenger seat. ScreenCrush speculates the whole scene to be a flashback scene since Joker is reportedly behind bars in most of the scenes in "Suicide Squad."
The photographed scene supposedly establishes the professional rivalry between the Joker and Batman. The same website states that the film may also feature flashbacks of Deadshot, played by Will Smith, and Captain Boomerang, played by Jai Courtney.
Back in 2013, Affleck discussed in an interview with Playboy his role as Batman. "I don't want to give away too much, but the idea for the new Batman is to redefine him in a way that doesn't compete with the [Christian] Bale and Chris Nolan Batman but still exists within the Batman canon," he said.
Aside from Margot Robbie and Jared Leto, "Suicide Squad" also stars Cara Delevingne, Will Smith, Scott Eastwood, Jai Courtney, Adewale Akinniuoye-Agbaje, Joel Kinnaman and Viola Davis. The film is set to open in theaters on August 5, 2016.
