Looks like Microsoft failed in their attempt to keep the pricing and release date for OEM copies of Windows 10 and Windows 10 Pro under wraps.
Despite the clamor from developers, Microsoft has kept mum on the exact release date of Microsoft 10 during the recent build developer conference, Cnet reports. But thanks to online retailer, Newegg, the secret may just be out.
If you are looking to upgrade to the latest version of Microsoft Windows, then 31st of August is the date to look out for, based on the listing at Newegg.com. The site has already offered OEM copies of Windows 10 and Windows Pro for pre-order set for release on said date. The copies are priced at $109 and $149 respectively at their website.
Microsoft has not made any confirmation on the veracity of Newegg's information, but what is certain, as reiterated by one of the company's spokespersons, is that a summer launch for the software is underway and "we look forward to sharing more details about how the upgrade will be offered at a later date", as published by Cnet.
Windows 10, which will then be the company's redemption from the glitches of Microsoft 8, is going to run across every device, regardless if it's a desktop with a large hard drive down to just a gigabyte strong smartphone. Microsoft is hoping to bounce back from the devastation that was the sound rejection of Microsoft 8, and appease the company's varied consumers, Cnet further reports.
According to the website, the software is almost like a hybrid of Windows 7, with additions of more modern design touches. Metro, the widely criticized tiled interface of Microsoft 8, is no longer expected to be present in this newest version, but live tiles - those interactive squares integral to that design - are apparently there to stay for use for social media accounts such as Twitter and Facebook, as well as squares for Skype and email.
