The role of the rebooted version of Spider-Man has been subject to a lot of rumors lately. Many have provided suggestions on who is best to become the famed webslinger in the next installment of Avengers and Spidey's very own series. A report from Hollywood Reporter has listed down possible actors to play the young Peter Parker, who were said to have recently auditioned with Marvel for the role. They are as follows:
a) Asa Butterfield. His name has been closely associated with the Peter Parker role since day one of the auditions, with even rumors of him actually landing the role. He is reportedly considered the frontrunner because of his lead roles in "Hugo" as well as "Ender's Game."
b) Tom Holland. Holland's best known role is in "The Impossible" with Naomi Watts. His next film would be Ron Howard's "In the Heart of the Sea."
c) Judah Lewis. This actor is considered the dark horse for the role, being under the radar compared with the previous two. He has been quite active with TV appearances in "Deliverance Creek" and "CSI:Cyber." His movie credits include the remake of "Point Break" and the drama "Demolition."
According to a report from collider.com, there are other actors being considered for the Spider-man role such as Nat Wolff from "The Fault in our Stars," Timothee Chalamet from "Interstellar" and Liam James from "The Way, Way Back."
Marvel and Sony, according to Hollywood Reporter, may announce their new Spider-man within the week. The new "Spider-man" movie will focus on the teenage Peter Parker but not his origin, since it was covered in the previous films already. Apparently, a search is also being done for the director the film. Jonathan Levine is reportedly considered the frontrunner for the position.
