The famous designer Calvin Klein has recently put his storied Miami Beach mansion for sale, but he reportedly said that he won't sell it to "just anyone." Klein said in an interview with Page Six that because of the uniqueness and beauty of the house, he will sell it to a person who "appreciates the aesthetic."
The fashion designer reportedly wanted to sell this house since he was looking to move to Hollywood Hills, California, where he bought a $30 million "glass box." As of writing, the five-bedroom, seven-bathroom compound located at 4452 North Bay Road is listed for about $16 million, and it was reported that Pablo Alfaro of Douglas Elliman is the broker of the estate.
The home was built in 1929 and includes a two-car garage, a private waterfront sanctuary and an infinity pool situated at 113 feet high, offering magnificent open bay views. The living, indoor and outdoor areas have a total area of 8000 square feet, but the house sits on a total of 16,709 square-foot lot. The open floor plan spans about 5.800 square feet and features European artistry throughout, capturing the spirit of peace or Zen. It also has an impressive landscaped outdoor living and dining areas. The furnishings and antiques of the home were chosen by designer Axel Vervoordt. The Real Deal was able to obtain several pictures of the interior of the home.
According to Local 10, Klein purchased the Miami Beach house in the North Bay Road community after he sold his brand to global apparel company Phillips-Van Heusen for roughly $400 million. After almost 10 years of living in the neighborhood, the designer decided to sell the property. Klein reportedly said in his Page Six interview that he was beginning to become "bored" of the Miami Beach "resort" life.
