Even the president of the most powerful country in the world has joined the Caitlyn Jenner bandwagon by giving props to the newly transformed former Olympian. According to TMZ, Obama praised Jenner via Twitter by saying, "It took courage to share your story." The current most powerful man in the world added, "Your story matters in the fight for LBGT rights."
The acknowledgement from Obama is a success story for the LGBT community considering that the speech was given during the State of the Union address.
Aside from the President, famous celebrities also showed their support for Caitlyn Jenner. According to E Online, celebrities who showed support included the Kardashian sisters Kim, Khloe and Kourtney; her daughters Kendall and Kylie Jenner; Maria Shriver; Kerry Washington; Hoda Kotb; and Ellen DeGeneres.
E Online continued the report by providing snippets from Jenner's recent Dian Sawyer interview. The interview basically showed Bruce Jenner's sentiments. He quoted, "For all intents and purposes I am a woman. People look at me differently. They see you as this 'macho male,' but my heart and my soul and everything I do in life, it is part of me, that female side is part of me. It's who I am. I was not genetically born that way."
The 65-year-old Jenner gained popularity in the 70s as an Olympian that broke records as a decathlon. As an entrepreneur, he took advantage of his Olympic popularity and received numerous offers and was even considered to play Superman that eventually went to Christopher Reeves. He again gained popularity by starring in the television show, Keeping Up with the Kardashians. Jenner had become controversial when he finally revealed his true gender in April of 2015 during an interview with Diane Sawyer.
