Steven Spielberg Sells Malibu Beach Front Property, Pockets $29 Million Profit

A-lister Hollywood director/producer Steven Spielberg acquired a blockbuster amount without even releasing a movie or selling any rights to one of his vast selection of record-breaking movies. TMZ reported that Spielberg recently pocketed an eye-popping $34 million for his Malibu beach house cum mini compound, five times the price the first time he got the property.

The 1-acre beachfront property compound that closely resembles the set of his 1990s record-breaking film, Jurassic Park (without the dinosaurs of course), flaunts 7 enormous bedrooms with 9 equally huge bathrooms. The Broad Beach named property is totaled at 7, 2000 square feet (main house) and is adorned by public rooms that opens into a central courtyard that goes out to an ocean-side terrace.

The massive master suite is located at the 2nd floor of the main house that is neighbored by two ultra wide rooms. The suite houses a private library and a massage room that has the best view of the house - the Pacific Ocean (where the E.T. director presumably kills time by getting a massage with a splendid view). The property also has a wide and spacious pool that can host an entire movie cast and crew.

Of course, since it is Spielberg's property, regardless if it's in the ocean or the mountain, the property also has a top-of-the-line screening room.

The Titanic director acquired the property for only $6.6 million that includes the two adjacent lots where the main house sits, making him roughly $29 million richer on this investment.

Before the sale of the property, the Malibu compound was leased as a summer rental at a sky rocket price of $150,000 a month, according to Variety. The online news website also mentioned that the Oscar-winning director/producer purchased the property on two separate occasions, first in 1989 and the second in 2000.

Hollywood A-listers such as Pierce Brosnan, Steven Levitan, Dustin Hoffman, Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman, and Ray Romano also owned multi-million properties in the area.
