Who run the world?
Yep, strong, powerful, and beautiful women that is.
For months, we have been hearing a couple of hush-hush from Hollywood that famed actress/director Angelina Jolie is tied to Marvel's upcoming superhero flick, Captain Marvel. But that rumor starts to expand a little when new reports say that she's going behind the camera to direct and she's taking in Charlize Theron to take the lead role.
OK Magazine (via Yahoo) reported that Marvel Studios has been eyeing Jolie to take on the said project as director and now it seems that she's ready to hop on board if Theron signs on. The two have been recently seen to have forged a deep friendship after being introduced by Jolie's hubby, Brad Pitt, so it is very likely to see them both in this powerhouse project. "Marvel has been courting Angie to direct the project and Charlize is a clear fan favorite for the starring role. If Charlize were to get the part, Angie would almost certainly sign on to work with her new pal," the source added.
Theron, who recently starred in the acclaimed Mad Max: Fury Road as the breathtakingly awesome, Furiosa, has been active in several charity work, just like her gal pal, Jolie. She even admires the Malificent star for raising six children.
"The girls realized that they have a very similar outlook on life and quickly bonded over everything from their adopted children to their prospective Hollywood projects," an insider mentioned.
Well, if indeed Jolie and Theron confirms, they are sure to bring in more hype to Marvel's first female-led superhero film. Kevin Feige of Marvel explained, "This film has been in the works almost as long as Doctor Strange or Guardians of the Galaxy before it came out, and one of the key things was figuring out what we wanted to do with it. Her adventures are very earthbound, but her powers are based in the cosmic realm."
According to IGN, Captain Marvel is set to release on July 6, 2018.
