Sexual Assault vs Bill Cosby Update: Cosby Seeks to Block Subpoena

An issue has been revolving around the four corners of the entertainment world and dragged the name of Hollywood star Bill Cosby.

Actor Bill Cosby seeks to block a subpoena in a confidential 2006 settlement of a Philadelphia sexual assault lawsuit. In a report from Florida News Time, comedian Cosby has been charged by 30 women or more of sexual misdemeanors, including accusation that he drugged and raped them in occasions more than four decades ago.

Now, lawyers of Cosby have moved to block a subpoena sent to an attorney for the Philadelphia plaintiff by three women now charging Cosby for defamation in Massachusetts.

Linda Traitz, Therese Serignese, and Tamara Green accused Bill Cosby of defaming them by having his representatives deny that the actor had molested them in the 1970s.

The three complainants are desiring to study the documents about the sexual assault case filed against actor Bill Cosby.

The complainants are said to be among the 12 women who stepped forward in the previous years with assault charges against Cosby.

Traitz, Serignese, and Green believe that the documents from Andrea Constand's lawsuit will help their case, reports Huffington Post. Andrea Constand, a former employee of Temple University, accused Cosby of drugging and sexually assaulting her at his suburban mansion, but her settlement agreement with the actor is protected by confidentiality.

In March 2005, Constand initiated a civil claim, along with thirteen females as potential eyewitnesses if the case proceeds to the court, and Cosby settled out of court for a secret amount in November 2006.

Defense lawyer George M. Gowen asked the Pennsylvania court to wait for the decision of the judge about the bid Cosby made to thrash the Massachusetts lawsuit. Gowen also demands for ample time to study and analyze all the materials and documents that need to be unsealed.

The 77-year-old Hollywood actor Bill Cosby insisted he never committed any crime and has not been charged of anything illegal.
