There have been numerous rumors as to the actual role Batman (Ben Affleck) would play in the villain-filled movie "Suicide Squad." What has been established so far, though not yet officially confirmed, is that Batman will be involved in a car chase with his most famous enemy The Joker (Jared Leto), as seen in recently leaked photos from the movie set. Now a new report claims that Batman will have a talk with the squad's head honcho, Amanda Waller (Viola Davis).
According to a report from cinemablend.com, Batman will give his two cents' worth on the possible consequences of using the said group of supervillains in black ops missions. Batman will reportedly confront Waller about it and warn her that should anything go wrong, she will be the one held responsible. According to ScreenRant, this fits with previous reports on Batman's cameo in the movie, which stated that the Caped Crusader will not have an agreeable relationship with the government; Waller, therefore, may use the squad to take him down.
With Ben Affleck's "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" set to hit screens on March 2016 and the "Suicide Squad" set to come out five months later, in August 2016, incorporating the Batman character in "Suicide Squad" is reportedly a good marketing strategy for DC, as it also unites its two comic book-based movies, ScreenRant reports. Cinema Blend notes, though, that Batman's supposed scene with Waller still doesn't provide the full extent of the role that the Caped Crusader will have in the movie. It also reportedly doesn't provide an explanation of the leaked car chase seen between Batman and the Joker, which was presumed to be part of a flashback for Harley Quinn.
"Suicide Squad" stars Will Smith as Deadshot, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flagg, Jared Leto as The Joker, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Cara Delevigne as Enchantress, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Killer Croc and Viola Davis as Amanda Waller.
Filiming of the movie is currently ongoing in the streets of Toronto. "Suicide Squad" will hit the cinemas on August 5, 2016.
