Bruce Jenner's controversial reveal on Vanity Fair's 22-page cover story is not showing signs of dying down. E! had just announced their new docu series starring no other than, hands down, the lady of the hour, Caitlyn Jenner - goodbye, Bruce!
I Am Cait - why with a C, not K, here - is set to premiere Sunday, July 26, at 9:00 p.m. and the show's first ever promo has already been released, eonline.com reports.
The 60-second clip showing Caitlyn putting her makeup on - some makeup skills you got there! - and getting ready for what could be one of the best days of her life. "To be able to wake up in the morning, be yourself, get dressed, get ready to go out, and just be like a normal person-that's a wonderful feeling to go through life," she told Vanity Fair. "I've never been able to do that; it's always been confusion, it's always been, you know, I've got one side [with] boy clothes, the other side's women's clothes. It's like I cleaned the whole closet out-the boys stuff is gone."
Having to fight an internal battle all her life before finally coming out, Caitlyn empathizes with women's life challenges, "You start learning kind of the pressure women are under all the time about their appearance."
"So many people go through life and they never deal with their own issues. No matter what the issues are. Ours happen to be gender identity," Jenner says in new promo for the show. "How many people go through life and waste their entire life because they never deal with themselves and be who they are" time.com reports.
Now that she is free to be the person she always wanted to be, Caitlyn is more than thrilled to welcome the new chapters ahead of her. "I'm just going to go live life. I'm going to go enjoy life. I have nothing left to hide. I am kind of a free person, a free soul," she reveals. "[Up] to this point I would wear, you know, Bruce would wear, you know, sweatshirts with hoods on them so paparazzi can't get pictures and all that kind of crap, and I didn't want them to see if my fingernails were polished or, you know, on and on and on. It was just hell."
The I Am Cait 1-minute promo ends showing how ecstatic Caitlyn is to be out in the world without having to pretend anymore, time.com adds. "Isn't it great that maybe someday you'll be normal? Just blend into society?" she asks. Her friend gave a reassuring "you are normal" in which the former Olympian replies: "Put it this way: I'm the new normal."
