The outspoken half of the act Penn & Teller, magician Penn Jillette, has recently moved out of his home after his purchase of a new one in the upscale Las Vegas community of The Ridges. According to a report from realtor.com, his new house is a 7,808 square-foot mansion worth $3.3 million.
The home was originally listed for $3,675,000 in September 2014. Prior to that, the home was sold in February 2010 for about $2.6 million. Meanwhile, Jillette's former home, which he nicknamed "the Slammer," will be listed in the market, according to Jillette's agent Zar Zanganeh. The listing will be managed by Luxe Estates team for a still undetermined price.
According to a report from pagesix.com, the main attraction of the new mansion of the Jillettes is the opportunity for "outdoor-indoor living." Zanganeh describes the new digs as having "disappearing pocket doors everywhere, so it literally opens up to the outdoors." It is also reportedly closer to the schools of his children. The new home is fully furnished, making for a quick move for the family.
"The Slammer" is what Jillette and his family called home since moving to Las Vegas in 1994. A report in the lasvegassun.com describes the property as a home with "a unique-to-the-desert, a frame structure and obtuse design effects."
In line with the news of Jillette moving to a new home, an eventual yard sale has been set, along with a party, for his last few days in "The Slammer." Among the unique items that would be sold are the Jill-Jet, which is a Jacuzzi with a jet designed specifically for a woman's self-gratification, his coffee mug collection, his infamous collection of rock albums and posters.
The send-off party is now being dubbed as "The Big Bacon and Doughnuts Party." It will feature Jillette's side project, the NoGodBand.
