Enrique Iglesias' hand injury was more than a cut, according to BBC. The report said that Iglesias' hand injury needed reconstructive surgery after the singer suffered a cut from a drone during his concert in Tijuana, Mexico. In his website, his spokesperson said that the damage ended up being a little bit worse than the first assessment - Iglesias actually suffered a hand fracture. Having said that, Iglesias' needs to lay down the microphone and ease off on the tours for a couple of weeks to recover.
The son of the legendary singer was known to hold up drones to capture images of his fans during concerts. However, he grabbed the drone wrongfully and cut his hand with it. Professional as he was, after he was cut, he received first-aid treatment and continued where he left off, not minding his bloodied hand and white t-shirt. But as per doctor's advice, the concert was cut short.
After the show, Iglesias was rushed to the airport and was received by an ambulance to further treat his injury before finally flying back to LA to see a specialist.
On an update on the 40-year-old's injury, The Daily Mail said that Iglesias went under the knife on Monday in Los Angeles and is on his way to recovery.
With Iglesias' classy demeanor during the concert, he garnered the hearts of the fans and celebrities all over the globe and received hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of good lucks and well wishes for his operation and recovery.
The injury happened halfway during his hit song Escape.
Enrique Iglesias is the son of singer Julio Iglesias and partner to former tennis heartthrob Anna Kournikova.
He is also set to return to Mexico City for another concert on July 3.
