After Caitlyn Jenner revealed her identity in the latest cover of Vanity Fair, celebrities who were against it triggered a hot discussion on social media. Not everyone showed support for Jenner's new identity.
Former Nickelodeon star Drake Bell was a hot topic on Twitter this week after he tweeted, "Sorry... still calling you Bruce" as a response to Jenner's Vanity Fair cover. This was met with massive backlash not only on Twitter but other social media sites. According to a report from BBC News, Bell quickly deleted his tweet and explained why he posted the said message. He tweeted, "I'm not dissing him! I just don't want to forget his legacy! He is the greatest athlete of all time! Chill out!" This latest tweet where he addressed Jenner as a "he" was also deleted.
Ben Shapiro, a conservative political commentator, also expressed his disagreement to Jenner's revelation and also to the transgender community in his tweets. One of the tweets read, "Your biological sex is completely mutable, but your sexual orientation is completely immutable. #ThingsILearnedFromTheLeft". He also said that those who are supporting Jenner are "part of the problem."
Meanwhile, famous artist and producer Timbaland, who posted a meme in connection to Jenner's Vanity Fair Cover, as seen in Mirror, also reportedly tried to defended what he did but "failed miserably." The meme said, "His momma named him Bruce, I'mma call him Bruce." The fans were clearly shocked with the post but the producer reasoned that he just shared the meme and did not create it himself.
On his Twitter account, Timbaland explained, "This is what happen. I saw a meme post and repost it cause I seen the movie in the post and thought that part of the movie was one of the funniest parts. And somebody decide to take out Clay which was said in the movie and put Bruce. Thats it, I didn't make the meme that was posted or said publicly what the meme said."
After the big revelation of Jenner this week, the Internet also exploded with other memes. Some of these memes include the one that says Jenner even looked more glamorous than ex-wife Kris Jenner with her new beautiful look.
