The filming of "Fear the Walking Dead" has already commenced, and as early as now, there are speculations that the new AMC series could cross over with "The Walking Dead."
Although there were reports that "Fear the Walking Dead" will be different from "The Walking Dead," fans are still eager to see a crossover in the next couple of months because both series still center on the same subject, which are zombies, according to Venture Capital Post.
Additionally, "Fear the Walking Dead" will serve as the prequel to "The Walking Dead," which means the former will be focused on the things that took place before the zombie apocalypse.
Meanwhile, "Fear the Walking Dead" creator showrunner Dave Erickson told The Hollywood Reporter that he is interested in seeing a crossover soon. However, he guaranteed that this will not happen in Season 1 because the story has to be established first.
In other news, a new cast member was recently tapped to join the cast of AMC's upcoming series. "The Returned" star Sandrine Holt landed a recurring role to play Dr. Bethany Exner on "Fear the Walking Dead." Dr. Exner is dubbed as a confident and skilled doctor who will play a huge part in helping the victims of the upcoming zombie apocalypse, Deadline noted.
"Fear the Walking Dead" will center on the life of Madison and Travis, a couple who has decided to move in together. Both Madison and Travis have children from their previous relationships, and their decision to come together as one family would bring about major changes in their respective family dynamics.
The cast of the upcoming series includes Cliff Curtis, Frank Dillane, Alycia Debnam Carey, Elizabeth Rodriguez, Mercedes Mason, Ruben Blades and more. "Fear the Walking Dead" will premiere this coming August but the show creators have not yet revealed a specific date.
