'Death Becomes Her Star" Isabella Rossellini has recently purchased a one-bedroom apartment located on Manhattan's Upper West Side. According to a report from zillow.com, the small unit, just 789 square feet in total, was bought by the "Death Becomes Her" star for $1.275 million, discounted from the listed price of $1.32 million. The listing was managed by Douglas Elliman's Susan Yosook Lim.
The pad is housed in a 35-floor building and features amenities such as a 60-foot lap pool, fitness center, yoga studio and saunas. The unit boasts a terrace, floor-to-ceiling windows that provide views of the Manhattan skyline and custom-made Italian cabinets.
According to the observer.com, a few years back, Rossellini had lived in Manhattan as well but eventually sold off her Manhattan property and moved to the quaint town of Bellport, Long Island. The town, with its stately colonials, wide lawns and white picket fences, is reportedly very different from the busy Manhattan.
Now with Rossellini's new purchase dubbed as The Element, her return to Manhattan may reportedly seem anti-climactic because of the "bland" apartment. The apartment was formerly owned by Jane and Leo Hruska, who, according to the site, failed to spice up the place even with Andy Warhol-style Buddha prints. Despite the apparent "blandness" of the apartment itself, the listing said that it has "designer finishes throughout that are second to none."
In other news, the daughter of master filmmaker Roberto Rossellini and Ingrid Bergman recentlycelebrated her mother's centennial at the Cannes Film Festival, according to a report from people.com. She gushed, "She (Ingrid Bergman, her mother) is everywhere. She is the official poster of the festival and she has enormous spread all over Cannes. It's wonderful."
