The newest trailer of the upcoming Mission Impossible shows how super spy Ethan Hunt was killed. Just like the previous installments, it is expected to be action-packed and stunt-filled which features Tom Cruise hanging on a flying airplane. However, the first preview only showed just a tip of the iceberg and the second one may have finally revealed how Ethan died, or not.
According to Cinemablend, the newest trailer showed the protagonist spy going underwater only to be killed, temporarily. The next scene on the trailer shows him in a car and motorcycle chase with Simon Pegg on the shotgun. This hardhitting film might be Cruise's saving grace after a series of blockbuster disappointments in the past years.
The film showcases dangerous and death defying stunts that Cruise himself did. This film, compared to the previous outing, veered away from CGI technology and wanted to do old school to add more drama and realism to the film.
Rouge Nation will evolve around Ethan and the IMF that is being hunted down by an anti-IMF group after their team was shut down by the United States Government. Ethan, on the other hand, wants to go against the flow and eradicate the entire group that has been chasing their tails since the government drop.
According to CNet, aside from Cruise and Pegg, Hawkeye Jeremy Rener will resume his role as William Brandt and Ving Rhames as Luther Stickell. The newest additions to the film are Rebecca Ferguson who will play Ilsa Faust and Alec Baldwin who will play the role as the Head of the Central Intelligence Unit who wants the IMF out. Prometheus actor, Sean Harris, will also appear on the film as one, or if not, the head of the assassins.
It will be directed by Christopher McQuarrie, who also directed Cruise's Jack Reacher. McQuarrie is also responsible for writing another Cruise film, Edge of Tomorrow.
The film is expected to be released on July 30th of this year.
