Megyn Kelly of Fox News' 'The Kelly File' sat down with two of Duggars' most controversial siblings, Jill Dillard and Jessa Seewald -- Josh Duggar's alleged victims.
"We're victims. They can't do this to us," an emotional Jill Dillard attested regarding the media hype their story has been receiving.
In SALON's seven picked crucial exchanges of the heated interview, Seewald uttered 'ridiculous' incredulously when Kelly mentioned about one of the headlines describing the Duggar home a 'House of Horrors.' Kelly also pointed out the strong Christian values the family advocates, which made them come out and clear the issue, and how critics say the family shouldn't have gone out since they know this issue has happened. Seewald countered that their family was 'just a family' and that they weren't perfect. With 19 children, challenges come just like in any other family's case.
Jill Dillard and Jessa Seewald were terrified by how their story has been retold online and in the media, Fox411 reports. Seewald also had something to say in defense of his brother Josh.
According to E! Online, in her interview with Kelly, Seewald justified, "I do want to speak up in his defense against people who are calling him a child molester or a pedophile or a rapist, some people are saying."
"I'm like, 'That is so overboard and a lie really.' I mean people get mad at me for saying that, but I can say this because I was one of the victims," she continued.
Josh's parents, Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar, insisted that the girls were completely unaware while it happened. According to Fox, they have also talked to their daughters regarding the matter themselves, and all of the children received professional counselling.
For the two sisters, they believe that a person can be changed despite the mistakes and failures he has done in the past. The real issue, Seewald says, is that people are making it seem like it happened just yesterday.
