"Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens" could witness the return of Wicket the Ewok in the sequel. According to Making Star Wars, Warwick Davis, who previously played the role of Wicket, was confirmed to not return to the franchise. However, a recent press tour in Japan proved otherwise.
When Daisy Reedley and Kathleen Kennedy headed to the country, they released a "Star Wars" press book that served as evidence that Davis will reprise his role.
Meanwhile, such speculations heightened after fans noted director J.J. Abrams' previous statement that he wanted "Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens" to recapture George Lucas' original trilogy, Design N Trend reports.
In an interview with Vanity Fair last month, Abrams said, "I will say that because the world is a different place now than it was when that movie came out, we can't come out with the same thing and expect people to react to as if they hadn't seen it before."
Abrams added that the main goal for "Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens" is not to remake exactly what fans already saw before, but to inherit and embrace the elements that made "Star Wars" the franchise that it is today.
Additionally, John Williams, the music composer for all of Lucas films, seconded Abrams' statement and explained what made "Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens" different from the rest.
"It's a continuation of an initial set of ideas. Starting with a completely new film, a story that I don't know, characters that I haven't met, my whole approach to writing music is completely different," he told the same publication.
Williams added that the music for the upcoming "Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens" will identify with the characters, both old and new. He added that the music should serve as an extension of something that is both organic and evolving.
"Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens" is slated for release in the U.S. on Dec. 18, 2015.
