Changing 'Bruce' to 'Caitlyn' OK with US Olympics Committee

The name Bruce Jenner in the Sports Hall of Fame can be changed to Caitlyn Jenner.

A few weeks after former athlete turned reality television star, Bruce Jenner revealed her gender preference and changed her name to Caitlyn, the public has conveyed their overwhelming support to the former heartthrob's bold move to be honest and to go public. And in an all out and sincere initiative to help Caitlyn start her new life, the US Olympic Committee has relayed their willingness to change Caitlyn Jenner's name in its medal records.

US Olympic Committee spokesperson, Patrick Sandusky, said that, they would replace the name of Bruce Jenner and "gladly update the name to Caitlyn". She simply needs to file a formal request to revise the record. "We would happily consider any athlete's request to have his or her personal information updated in our records

In a related report by Washington Post, Sandusky added that, "We admire Caitlyn Jenner's courage and wish her all the best." This pertains to Jenner's decision to come out as transgender following her new appearance on the cover of Vanity Fair as a woman.

Bruce Jenner won the gold medal in decathlon in the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal. 10 years later, he was inducted in the U.S. Olympic Hall of Fame. US Magazine reports that in her coming-out interview with Diane Sawyer, Jenner confessed how she was going through confusion while competing in the Olympics. Jenner then renewed her fame in the reality TV show, Keeping Up With the Kardashians, where she played the role as stepfather to the Kardashians and to her two daughters, Kendall and Kyle .

In her earlier interviews, Jenner relayed her pride and honor for her past accomplishments, including her athletic career. It remains indefinite, however, if Jenner is interested in changing the honour into her new name.
