In the list created by IGN, one of the most anticipated movies of the year is "Insidious: Chapter 3." This prequel takes place before the haunting on the Lambert family. The gifted Elise played by Lin Shaye is trying to save a teenage girl from a demonic possession. The first two films grossed a total of $250 million, and this prequel is expected to produce big numbers as well at the box office. The movie was released in the U.S. three days ago, on June 5.
The action comedy film "Spy" starring Melissa McCarthy, Jason Statham and Jude law was also released on June 5. It was written and directed by Paul Fieg, also known as the director of the action comedy film, "The Heat." Next on the list is the prequel and the third installment of the horror film "Jurassic World," which is the first Jurassic flick since the last movie in 2001. It is set in the present day where the park is now up and running on a holiday resort named Isla Nubular. In the search for creating the next big attraction, the owners of the park decided to create a hybrid dinosaur. However, the famous T-Rex isn't too keen on being a theme park attraction, creating a massive disaster. The movie is directed by Colin Trevorrow and the cast includes Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Jake Johnson, Ty Simpkins, Vincent D'Onofrio and B.D. Wong. It is expected to hit U.S. theaters on June 12.
Another movie to watch out for is "Inside Out," which is an animated film by Pixar coming out on June 19. It is directed by Pete Doctor who was also known for directing the animated film "Up". According to Rope of Silicon, the movie has received a lot of positive comments out of Cannes.
The second installment of the film "Ted" is also set to release this month. "Ted 2" is directed by Seth MacFarlane, who is also the voice of the teddy bear featured in the movie. The plot of the story hasn't been revealed yet, but according to FirstShowing.net, there will be a part of the story that will focus on Ted fighting in court for the right of having a child with his human girlfriend. Morgan Freeman will be in the film and will play the role of Ted's civil rights lawyer along with other stars like Mark Wahlberg in the lead and Amanda Seyfried. Liam Neeson and John Slattery is also said to appear in the film. Ted 2 opens on June 26.
