Lewis Hamilton Wins Canadian Grand Prix, Moved Past Monaco Loss

Former world champion, Lewis Hamilton, cruised his win in the recently concluded Canadian Grand Prix. According to BBC, Hamilton started and finished the race in front. No one else came close to his spot until he crossed the checkered flag. The closest, however, to challenge the race leader was his teammate, Nico Rosberg, but he wasn't a real threat at all.

By winning the Canadian Grand Prix, Hamilton increased his championship points to 17. The win eased the pain caused by his disappointing loss in this year's Monaco Grand Prix.

At the start of the race, Hamilton led the drivers in the first corner and already built a four-second lead before he hit his fist pit stop of the race. He eventually built a commanding lead, and his teammate Rosberg in that matter, which helped the team to change tires and fill up the gasoline with ease.

While Hamilton cruised with ease, the Canadian Grand Prix was a disappointment for Kimi Raikkonen and 4-time world champion, Sebastian Vettel of Ferrari. Former world champion and current Ferrari driver Raikkonen was holding the third position until a spin at the hairpin on lap 27 and lost the position to Valtteri Bottas of Williams-Mercedes. On the other hand, Vettel, formerly of Red Bull, finished 5th, who literally crawled his way up due to a failed engine right from the qualifying rounds, as reported by Bleacher Report.

In an interview, Hamilton quoted that he loves Montreal. He loves its track and the city. He also said that he didn't feel he had the most comfortable balance. He also acknowledged his teammates' aggressiveness but he is also quick to fend it off by saying that he did not feel threatened at all.

He also said that he needed the victory after the Monaco loss due to a strategic error by the team.
