'Fear The Walking Dead': Miles Away From The Walking Dead

AMC's newest zombie apocalypse offering, Fear the Walking Dead, might make confusion on the smash hit The Walking Dead. According to the comic book writer, aside from the Fear The Walking Dead is set on the West Coast in contrast with The Walking Dead's American South setting, there will be one major difference, the environment. Fear the Walking Dead is set in an extremely urban setting that only means one thing, the cast and characters won't have to go through deserted and zombie-infested woods, as reported by Cinemablend.

Although the Georgia woods are lovely, for the longest time The Walking Dead past seasons are infested by two things, zombies and woods. Now, Fear the Walking Dead offers a different perspective, something we saw during the first season, urban life. Kirkman also said that the main focus of the Fear the Walking Dead is Los Angeles, the urban sprawl. LA is densely populated that gives out that the newest zombie apocalypse flick is going to be zombie-infested too which leads to interesting storylines and twists.

In addition, Fear the Walking Dead is set to cover different timelines than the blockbuster The Walking Dead, which allows the viewers to get a glimpse into the start of the outbreak on the West Coast area. The first season will only have six episodes. It is set to drop later this summer.

On related news, the producer of Fear the Walking Dead said through an interview with Rolling Stone that the series is more than a parallel story than a spinoff as it happened when The Walking Dead's main protagonist Rick Grimes is in slumber inside a hospital. Fear the Walking Dead will give the viewers a look on how the flu-like outbreak started and how the people reacted to it.

Kim Dickens (Gone Girl and Sons of Anarchy), Cliff Curtis (Missing and Gang Related), Frank Dillane (Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince) and Alicia Debham Carey (Into the Storm) will star in the newest AMC series. The second season is also set to be aired in 2016.
