'True Detective' Season 2 Cast & Trailer: New Video Features Colin Farrel and Vince Vaughn; Find Out What to Expect This Season

HBO has revealed two new trailers for the second season of its hit series "True Detective." The first teaser, shown in The Wrap, features Los Angeles Detective Ray Velcoro, played by Colin Farrel, who is a corrupt cop working under the control of crime lord Frank Seymon, played by Vince Vaughn.

The second trailer shows the four main characters of the show including Ani Bezzerides, the Ventura County Sheriff's detective played by Rachel McAdams, and motorcycle cop Paul Woodrugh played by Taylor Kitsch. The new trailers reportedly seem to continue HBO's excellent marketing campaign by teasing the fans on what is to come in the series without revealing anything.

According to Collider, the first two episodes were directed by "Fast Five" director Justin Lin. Based on the official synopsis for the show's Season 2, the story starts with a bizarre murder which brings three law enforcement officers and a career criminal together. Frank Seymon, a criminal entrepreneur who is in danger of losing his life's work, is forced to work with Ray Velcoro, who is a compromised detective in the industrial City in LA County. Ani Bezzerides is a county sheriff who is often at odds with the system that she serves and Paul Woodrugh is a war veteran and a motorcycle cop who discovers a crime scene that triggers an investigation involving the four characters in the show.

According to Colin Farrell in his interview featured in Business Standard, "True Detective" Season 2 is "very different" from the first season. "There are four main characters, as opposed to the two-character structure that's in the first piece," he said.

The first episode of "True Detective" Season 2 will air on June 22.
