Ps4 ‘Destiny: The Taken King’ Expansion Release Date, Price, & News: New Abilities, PvPs, Strikes

Video game fans, wait no more!

Destiny's new expansion will be titled The Taken King, according to a leak reported by Kotaku. The release date is set on September 15 and is priced at $40. Fans are sure to get more excited with the report which mentions that the popular game will feature a new subclass for each of the three classes.

But wait, there's more!

According to IGN, new elemental abilities for each of the character classes have also been added. Hunters will get Gravity Bow (void), Warlocks will receive an electrical storm (arc), and Titans with a flaming hammer (solar).

The Taken King will also introduce new PvP maps and new Strikes. The new raid boss will be Oryx, Crota's father, who has been mentioned to seek revenge for the death of his son. He will also lead a new army called The Taken. To recall, Crota was the raid boss in Destiny's first expansion.

Destiny's new expansion game's name has been said to appear a couple of times in the past. Previously, The Taken King came up in US packs of Red Bull Energy Drinks. A logo and trademark also surfaced a month back, filed by Jim Charne, who also did the same for both The Dark Below and House of Wolves.

It is rumored that Destiny: The Taken King is the official title for Comet: Plague of Darkness, a content pack which includes new weapon types, subclasses, PvP maps, locations, and story missions. Additionally, a boxed version of the game will be coming, reported to be a Game of the Year edition. It is said that this version will include both The Dark Below and House of Wolves expansions.
