Terraria Officially Coming to Wii U and 3DS

The highly successful 2D crafting game "Terraria" would be coming to Wii U and 3DS. This was confirmed by the creative director of Re-Logic, as reported on ign.com.

The said move was confirmed by Re-Logic's Whitney Baird in a post on a "Terraria" forum. Alongside the announcement is the recent listing on Amazon that pertained to the "Minecraft"-like game being released on the shopping site through Nintendo's 3DS platform by Halloween of 2015. According to a report from pocketgamer.co.uk, the game is priced at $29.99 and would be available by October 31, 2015.

Initially released in 2010 for just the PC platform, "Terraria" had already expanded into Windows Phone, PS Vita and Kindle platforms. Now with its expansion into Wii U and 3DS, the game is expected to pick up not only in terms of gamers but also pricing. Currently, the PC version of "Terraria" is at $10 while the PS Vita is priced at $14.99, according to a report from escapistmagazine.com.

This is also a 180-degree turnaround for 505 Games, "Terraria's" publisher, which announced back in 2014 in a report from polygon.com that the game would not be made available for the Wii U platform.

"Terraria" was recently reviewed by IGN.com, which said that the depth, content variety and high replay value makes the simple game amongt the best in the market. Some sites even rated "Terraria" as better than "Minecraft." Though at first glance the game seems to just copy "Minecraft," "Terraria" actually takes the concept one step further as it expands from the sandbox gameplay into greater combat and adventure activities in the game. Even if it is just 2D, "Terraria" rates well in the niche of games it is included in.

In related news, co-optimus.com reports the availability of a new secret PC patch for "Terraria," namely the "Terraria: Underworld," update, which provides gamers new items and features for the current game.
